- The value of session trading in equities on the Main Market was PLN 17.9 billion in February 2014, an increase of 11.7% year on year.
- The number of transactions per session increased by 47.5% year on year to 1.3 million in February 2014.
- The total value of trading on NewConnect increased by 20.4% year on year and stood at PLN 108.9 million in February 2014.
- The total volume of transactions on the electricity market stood at 16.2 TWh in February 2014, an increase of 17.6% year on year.
The value of session trading in equities on the Main Market was PLN 17.9 billion (EUR 4.3 billion) in February 2014 compared to PLN 16.1 billion in February 2013, an increase of 11.7% year on year. The number of transactions per session increased by 47.5% year on year to 1.3 million.
The value of session trading on NewConnect was PLN 96.5 million in February 2014, an increase of 30.4% year on year (PLN 74.0 million in February 2013).
The monthly volume of trading in derivative contracts was 831.7 thousand in February 2014 compared to 881.3 thousand in February 2013, a decrease of 5.6% year on year. The number of open interest in index futures increased by 50.5% year on year to 260 thousand at the end February 2014.
The value of non-Treasury issues listed on Catalyst was PLN 60.0 billion at the end of February 2014 compared to PLN 54.1 billion in February 2013 (an increase of 11.0%). The monthly value of total trading in bonds on Catalyst decreased by 32.9% year on year to PLN 209.4 million in February 2014 while the value of session trading increased by 176.4% year on year to PLN 194.8 million.
The volume of forward transactions on the electricity market stood at 14.2 TWh in February 2014, an increase of 17.1% year on year. The total volume of trading on the gas market was 237.0 GWh in February 2014.
The capitalisation of 405 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 629.2 billion (EUR 151.2 billion) at the end of February 2014.
The total capitalisation of 451 domestic and foreign companies listed on the WSE Main Market was PLN 886.2 billion (EUR 213 billion) at the end of February 2014.
The company Medicalgorithmics was newly listed on the WSE Main Market in February 2014. It was the 26th company in the history of the WSE to transfer from NewConnect to the WSE Main Market.
Two companies were listed on NewConnect in February 2014: Vakomtek and Labo Print.
Four new issuers were listed on Catalyst in February 2014: Emmerson Group, Próchnik, SAF and the Municipality of Olkusz. The new listing of Próchnik bonds is a milestone on WSE. Of the five companies newly listed at the first trading session on 16 April 1991, Próchnik is the only company to be listed continuously on WSE.
WSE reported a historical volume of trading in structured certificates at 632,791 on 26 February 2014. The previous record of 610,252 certificates was reported on 27 June 2013. The volume of trading in structured products was also record-high on that day at 633,388. The previous record of 610,252 products was also reported on 27 June 2013.
WSE held 20 trading sessions in February 2014, the same number as in February 2013.
