Investor Activity On GPW Markets: July 2015

  • The value of trade on the Electronic Order Book[1] in equities on the Main Market was PLN 17.5 billion in July 2015, an increase of 16.3% year on year
  • The volume of trade in index futures was 357.6 thousand contracts, an increase of 24.7% year on year
  • The total volume of spot and forward trading in gas stood at 15.9 TWh in July 2015 and more than tripled year on year

The value of trade on the Electronic Order Book in equities on the Main Market was PLN 17.5 billion in July 2015, an increase of 16.3% year on year. The average daily value of trade in July 2015 was PLN 761.9 million (an increase of 16.3%) while the average daily number of transactions increased by 36.2% to 58.4 thousand. The value of trade in equities on the Main Market was PLN 119.6 billion in January-July 2015, a decrease of 2.1% year on year.

The total value of trading on NewConnect stood at PLN 167.0 million in July 2015, an increase of 50.7% year on year. The value of trade on the Electronic Order Book in equities on NewConnect increased by 46.5% year on year to PLN 117.9 million in July 2015. The value of trade on the Electronic Order Book in equities increased by 59.3% year on year to PLN 957.1 million in January-July 2015.

The volume of trading in index futures was 357.6 thousand contracts in July 2015 compared to 286.8 thousand contracts in July 2014, representing an increase of 24.7% year on year. The volume of trading in other futures (single-stock, currency, interest rate futures) was 222.2 thousand contracts in July 2015, an increase of 59.7% year on year. The volume of trade in options increased by 25.9% year on year to 34.7 thousand.

The value of bond issues listed on Catalyst was PLN 68.9 billion at the end of July 2015, an increase of 4.4% year on year. The total value of trade on Catalyst was PLN 206.9 million in July 2015, representing an increase of 6.2% year on year.

The total value of transactions on TBSP decreased by 17.4% year on year to PLN 52.9 billion in July 2015.

The volume of forward transactions in electricity was 11.2 TWh in July 2015, representing a decrease of 31.2% year on year. The volume of spot transactions increased by 2.2% year on year to 2.0 TWh in July 2015. The total volume of trade in electricity was 102.9 TWh in January-July 2015, representing a decrease of 0.4% year on year.

The volume of trading in property rights to certificates of origin more than doubled year on year to 4.0 TWh in July 2015.

The total volume of spot and forward transactions in gas more than tripled from 5.3 TWh in July 2014 to 15.9 TWh in July 2015.

The capitalisation of 424 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 591.7 billion (EUR 142.6 billion) at the end of July 2015.

The total capitalisation of 476 domestic and foreign companies listed on the GPW Main Market was PLN 1,265.9 billion (EUR 305.1 billion) at the end of July 2015.

The companies Poznańska Korporacja Budowlana Pekabex, Esotq&Henderson and Sunex were newly listed on the GPW Main Market in July 2015. The total value of the new listings was PLN 91 million in July 2015.

The company EC2 was newly listed on NewConnect in July 2015. The value of its offering was PLN 336.8 thousand.

Bonds of the companies Bank Millenium (PLN 300 million) and GTB Metropolis Nieruchomości (PLN 8,075 million) were newly listed on Catalyst in July 2015.

GPW held 23 trading sessions in July 2015, the same as in July 2014.
