GPW Main Market equity turnover totalled PLN 44.5 billion in April 2025, up 33.4% year on year. April brought historic results on the ETF market as well. The total ETF and ETC turnover value on GPW increased by as much as 194.1% year on year, reaching a record high of PLN 366 million. On 24 April, the WIG index closed the day above the symbolic mark of 100,000 points for the first time in its history. WIG gained more than 26.7% year to date.

Equity Market
GPW Main Market equity turnover totalled PLN 44.5 billion in April 2025, up 33.4% year on year. EOB equity turnover increased 37.6% year on year to PLN 43.1 billion. Average daily EOB equity turnover was PLN 2.15 billion, up 44.5% year on year.
After more than three decades since the Warsaw Stock Exchange opened, on 24 April 2025, the WIG index closed the day above the symbolic mark of 100,000 points for the first time in history, reaching 100,115 points. This is a historic moment for the Polish capital market and a sign of investors’ confidence in the strength and financial stability of the Polish economy. Since the beginning of 2025, GPW has been one of the best performing equity markets in the world. Its main indices have gained more than 25% year to date.
In contrast to the Main Market, NewConnect was in a downtrend. NewConnect total equity turnover value was PLN 119.9 million in April, down 13.3% year on year. NewConnect EOB equity turnover value dropped by 14.6% year on year to PLN 115.2 million.
April statistics confirmed the rising activity of investors on GlobalConnect, which reported yet another month of record turnover. GlobalConnect total equity turnover amounted to PLN 20.4 million vs. PLN 2.4 million in April 2024.
Structured Product and ETF Market
April figures show that the GPW Fee Reduction Programme for Exchange Members on trade in ETFs, ETCs and ETNs, announced in December 2024, has produced tangible results. April was another record month for the ETF market. The total ETF and ETC turnover value reached an all-time high of PLN 366 million in April 2025, an increase of 194.1% year on year. This segment has never seen such dynamic growth before. Growing investor interest is best proof of the effectiveness of the changes and the increasing popularity of passive investments on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.
Structured product turnover value was also rising by 22.6% year on year to PLN 310.5 million.
Derivatives Market
Total GPW derivatives turnover volume was 1.1 million instruments in April 2025, up 5.6% year on year. Index futures made the biggest contribution as their turnover volume was 617,500 futures, up 1.2% year on year. Currency futures turnover increased by 12.4% year on year to 227,000 futures. Single-stock futures turnover increased by 12.5% year on year to 138,400 futures.
Debt Market
The value of non-Treasury bond issues listed on Catalyst reached PLN 136.0 billion at the end of April 2025 vs. PLN 119.5 billion at the end of April 2024. Catalyst EOB bond turnover increased by 73.7% year on year to PLN 756.3 million.
Total Treasury BondSpot bond turnover value was PLN 115.9 billion in April 2025 vs. PLN 41.3 billion in April 2024, up by 180.7% year on year.
New Listings
Five new issuers were newly listed on Catalyst in April 2025, confirming continued strong debt market activity of local governments and companies. The new listings included both local governments and private issuers.
Bonds were newly listed on the Catalyst in April by the City of Kalisz (PLN 70 million), the Municipality of Prażmów (PLN 15 million), the Mazowieckie Region (PLN 400 million), the City of Krasnystaw (PLN 10 million), and 7R S.A. which placed green bonds worth PLN 150 million.
Capitalisation of GPW Listed Companies
The capitalisation of the 363 domestic companies listed on the GPW Main Market amounted to PLN 916.3 billion (EUR 214.2 billion) in April 2025. The total capitalisation of the 406 domestic and foreign companies listed on the GPW Main Market reached PLN 1,916.5 billion (EUR 448.0 billion).
