Investor Activity On GPW Group Markets April 2019 - Trading On GPW Group Markets

The total value of trading in equities on the GPW Main Market was PLN 14.0 billion in April 2019, representing a decrease of 3.1% year on year. The value of trading in equities on the Electronic Order Book decreased by 3.6% year on year to PLN 13.7 billion in April 2019. The average daily value of trading in equities on the Electronic Order Book stood at PLN 686.2 million in April 2019, a decrease of 3.6% year on year. The WIG index stood at 60,145.50 points at the end of April 2019, representing an increase of 0.4% year on year.

The total value of trading in equities on NewConnect increased by 26.5% year on year to PLN 99.9 million in April 2019. The value of trading in equities on the Electronic Order Book on NewConnect increased by 16.3% year on year and stood at PLN 85.1 million in April 2019.

The total volume of trading in derivatives was 413.9 thousand contracts in April 2019, representing a decrease of 20.8% year on year. The volume of trading in index futures decreased by 26.2% year on year to 223.7 thousand contracts.

The value of trading in structured products increased by 60.1% year on year to PLN 89.9 million in April 2019. The value of trading in ETFs increased by 108.3% year on year to PLN 11.0 million in April 2019.

The value of non-Treasury bond issues listed on Catalyst was PLN 90.0 billion at the end of April 2019 compared to PLN 79.1 billion at the end of April 2018. The value of trading in non-Treasury bonds on the Electronic Order Book on Catalyst increased by 3.3% year on year to PLN 189.8 million in April 2019.

The total value of trading in bonds on TBSP was PLN 33.3 billion in April 2019, representing a decrease of 5.9% year on year.

The total volume of spot and forward transactions in electricity was 18.2 TWh in April 2019, representing an increase of 0.3% year on year. The volume of spot transactions in electricity increased by 30.2% year on year to2.9 TWh. The volume of forward transactions decreased by 3.9% year on year to 15.3 TWh.

The total volume of transactions in natural gas was 11.2 TWh in April 2019, representing an increase of 96.1% year on year. The volume of trading on the spot market increased by 23.9% to 2.3 TWh. The volume of trading on the forward market increased by 131.7% and stood at 8.9 TWh.

The volume of spot transactions in property rights to certificates of origin excluding the rights to certificates of energy efficiency (“white certificates”)[3] was 6.1 TWh in April 2019, representing an increase of 3.8% year on year. The volume of trading in property rights to certificates of origin of energy efficiency (“white certificates”) increased by 173.0% year on year to 38.1 ktoe[4] in April 2019.

The capitalisation of 410 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 639.92 billion (EUR 149.17 billion) at the end of April 2019.

The total capitalisation of 461 domestic and foreign companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 1,266.9 billion (EUR 295.3 billion) at the end of April 2019.

The company Pharmena was newly listed on the Main Market in April 2019 (transfer from NewConnect, no offering of shares).

The companies Massmedica (PLN 1.14 million private placement) and CM International (PLN 120 thousand private placement) were newly listed on NewConnect in April 2019.

GPW held 20 trading sessions in April 2019, the same as in April 2018.
