The total value of trading in equities on the GPW Main Market was PLN 16.1 billion in October 2019, representing a decrease of 2.8% year on year. The value of trading in equities on the Electronic Order Book decreased by 2.8% year on year to PLN 15.9 billion in October 2019. The average daily value of trading in equities on the Electronic Order Book stood at PLN 691.9 million in October 2019, a decrease of 2.8% year on year. The WIG index stood at 57,783.02 points at the end of October 2019, representing an increase of 4.5% year on year.
The total value of trading in equities on NewConnect decreased by 39.2% year on year to PLN 179.1 million in October 2019. The value of trading in equities on the Electronic Order Book on NewConnect decreased by 42.7% year on year and stood at PLN 168.0 million in October 2019.
The total volume of trading in derivatives was 587.5 thousand contracts in October 2019, representing a decrease of 17.6% year on year. The volume of trading in index futures decreased by 20.6% year on year to 313.0 thousand contracts. The volume of trading in single-stock futures increased by 33.6% year on year to 149.0 thousand contracts in October 2019.
The value of trading in structured products increased by 48.1% year on year to PLN 140.4 million in October 2019. The value of trading in ETFs increased by 14.2% year on year to PLN 15.4 million in October 2019.
The value of non-Treasury bond issues listed on Catalyst was PLN 90.7 billion at the end of October 2019 compared to PLN 85.4 billion at the end of October 2018. The value of trading in non-Treasury bonds on the Electronic Order Book on Catalyst increased by 63.8% year on year to PLN 282.1 million in October 2019.
The total value of trading in bonds on TBSP was PLN 15.1 billion in October 2019 compared to PLN 61.7 billion in October 2018.
The total volume of spot and forward transactions in electricity was 29.0 TWh in October 2019, representing a decrease of 1% year on year. The volume of spot transactions in electricity increased by 14.4% year on year to 2.9 TWh. The volume of forward transactions decreased by 2.4% year on year to 26.0 TWh.
The total volume of transactions in natural gas was 14.4 TWh in October 2019, representing a decrease of 31.9% year on year. The volume of trading on the spot market increased by 30.1% and stood at 2.2 TWh. The volume of trading on the forward market decreased by 37.4% year on year and stood at 12.2 TWh.
The volume of spot transactions in property rights to certificates of origin excluding the rights to certificates of energy efficiency (“white certificates”)[2] was 1.9 TWh in October 2019, representing a decrease of 51.7% year on year. However, the October figures of this business line are not comparable year on year due to discontinued trading in cogeneration certificates as of June 2019.
The volume of trading in property rights to certificates of origin of energy efficiency (“white certificates”) increased by 7.4% year on year to 34.0 ktoe[3] in October 2019.
The capitalisation of 409 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 554.30 billion (EUR 130.06 billion) at the end of October 2019.
The total capitalisation of 458 domestic and foreign companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 1,102.1 billion (EUR 258.6 billion) at the end of October 2019.
The company Selvita was newly listed on the GPW Main Market in October with an offering worth PLN 276 million.
The companies Klabater (PLN 4 million offering) and Sonka (PLN 2.02 million offering) were newly listed on NewConnect in October 2019.
Bonds of KGHM Polska Miedź (PLN 2 billion offering) were newly listed on Catalyst in October 2019.
GPW held 23 trading sessions in October 2019, the same as in October 2018.
