The total value of trading in equities on the GPW Main Market was PLN 16.5 billion in October 2018, representing a decrease of 22.6% year on year. The value of trading in equities on the Electronic Order Book decreased by 19.7% year on year to PLN 16.4 billion in October 2018. The average daily value of trading in equities on the Electronic Order Book stood at PLN 711.7 million in October 2018, an decrease of 23.2% year on year. The WIG index stood at 55,312.71 points at the end of October 2018, representing a decrease of 14.7% year on year.
The total value of trading in equities on NewConnect increased by 208.7% year on year to PLN 294.6 million in October 2018. The value of trading in equities on the Electronic Order Book on NewConnect increased by 221.7% year on year and stood at PLN 293.2 million in October 2018.
The total volume of trading in derivatives was 712.6 thousand contracts in October 2018, representing an increase of 33.6% year on year. The volume of trading in currency futures increased by 89.1% to 180.1 thousand contracts. The volume of trading in index futures increased by 36.3% year on year to 394.1 thousand contracts.
The value of non-Treasury bond issues listed on Catalyst was PLN 85.4 billion at the end of October 2018 compared to PLN 70.8 billion at the end of October 2017.[3] The value of trading in non-Treasury bonds on the Electronic Order Book on Catalyst decreased by 26.8% year on year to PLN 177.1 million in October 2018.
The total value of trading in bonds on TBSP was PLN 61.7 billion in October 2018, representing an increase of 3.0% year on year.
The total volume of spot and forward transactions in electricity was 29.3 TWh in October 2018, representing an increase of 122.3% year on year. The volume of forward transactions in electricity increased by 141.5% year on year to 26.7 TWh.
The total volume of transactions in natural gas was 21.2 TWh in October 2018, representing an increase of 35.0% year on year. The volume of trading on the spot market decreased by 5.2% to 1.7 TWh. The volume of trading on the forward market increased by 40.2% and stood at 19.5 TWh.
The volume of spot transactions in property rights to certificates of origin excluding the rights to certificates of energy efficiency (“white certificates”)[1] was 4.0 TWh in October 2018, representing an increase of 15.2% year on year. The volume of trading in property rights to certificates of origin of energy efficiency (“white certificates”) decreased by 34.1% year on year to 31.6 ktoe[2] in October 2018.
The capitalisation of 420 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 587.86 billion (EUR 135.72 billion) at the end of October 2018.
The total capitalisation of 469 domestic and foreign companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 1,167.01 billion (EUR 269.44 billion) at the end of October 2018.
The company PRZEDSIĘBIORSTWO ROBÓT INSTALACYJNYCH EKOPARK SA was newly listed on NewConnect in October 2018 (private placement worth PLN 1,001,000).
Bonds of the company POZNAŃSKA KORPORACJA BUDOWLANA PEKABEX S.A. worth PLN 20 million were newly listed on Catalyst in October 2018.
GPW held 23 trading sessions in October 2018 compared to 22 sessions in October 2017.
