The total value of trading in equities on the GPW Main Market was PLN 16.9 billion in May 2019, representing a decrease of 3.8% year on year. The value of trading in equities on the Electronic Order Book decreased by 2.2% year on year to PLN 16.7 billion in May 2019. The average daily value of trading in equities on the Electronic Order Book stood at PLN 793.7 million in May 2019, a decrease of 6.9% year on year. The WIG index stood at 57,909.95 points at the end of May 2019, representing an increase of 1.1% year on year.
The total value of trading in equities on NewConnect decreased by 40.6% year on year to PLN 85.0 million in May 2019. The value of trading in equities on the Electronic Order Book on NewConnect decreased by 40.5% year on year and stood at PLN 84.0 million in May 2019.
The total volume of trading in derivatives was 548.2 thousand contracts in May 2019, representing a decrease of 16.6% year on year. The volume of trading in index futures increased by 6.0% year on year to 329.9 thousand contracts. The volume of trading in single-stock futures increased by 10.5% year on year to 119.7 thousand contracts.
The value of trading in structured products increased by 60.4% year on year to PLN 92.3 million in May 2019. The value of trading in ETFs increased by 53.1% year on year to PLN 14.6 million in May 2019.
The value of non-Treasury bond issues listed on Catalyst was PLN 90.6 billion at the end of May 2019 compared to PLN 80.7 billion at the end of May 2018. The value of trading in non-Treasury bonds on the Electronic Order Book on Catalyst increased by 41.9% year on year to PLN 211.0 million in May 2019.
The total value of trading in bonds on TBSP was PLN 29.7 billion in May 2019, representing an increase of 29.5% year on year.
The total volume of spot and forward transactions in electricity was 18.3 TWh in May 2019, representing an increase of 0.2% year on year. The volume of spot transactions in electricity increased by 33.0% year on year to 2.8 TWh. The volume of forward transactions decreased by 4.1% year on year to 15.5 TWh.
The total volume of transactions in natural gas was 13.7 TWh in May 2019, representing an increase of 61.1% year on year. The volume of trading on the forward market increased by 32.2% and stood at 12.1 TWh.
The volume of spot transactions in property rights to certificates of origin excluding the rights to certificates of energy efficiency (“white certificates”)[3] was 12.8 TWh in May 2019, representing an increase of 19.7% year on year. The volume of trading in property rights to certificates of origin of energy efficiency (“white certificates”) increased by 27.8% year on year to 29.1 ktoe[4] in May 2019.
The capitalisation of 411 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 611.14 billion (EUR 142.40 billion) at the end of May 2019.
The total capitalisation of 461 domestic and foreign companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 1,182.4 billion (EUR 275.5 billion) at the end of May 2019.
The company Boombit was newly listed on the Main Market in May 2019 (the value of the offering was PLN 35.15 million).
The companies CDA (PLN 850 thousand public offering) and Art Games Studio (PLN 800 thousand private placement) were newly listed on NewConnect in May 2019.
GPW held 21 trading sessions in May 2019, as compared to 20 trading sessions in May 2018.
