The total value of trade in equities on the GPW Main Market was PLN 26.0 billion in March 2020, representing an increase of 59.5% year on year. The value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book increased by 59.8% year on year to PLN 25.7 billion in March 2020. The average daily value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book stood at PLN 1.116 billion in March 2020, an increase of 52.5% year on year. The WIG index stood at 41,624.62 points at the end of March 2020, representing a decrease of 30.2% year on year.
The total value of trade in equities on NewConnect increased by 368.4% year on year to PLN 636.7 million in March 2020. The value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book on NewConnect increased by 373.4% year on year and stood at PLN 635.3 million in March 2020.
The total volume of trade in derivatives was 1,774.4 thousand contracts in March 2020, representing an increase of 187.6% year on year. The volume of trade in index futures increased by 194.0% year on year to 1,147.4 thousand contracts. The volume of trade in single-stock futures increased by 189.3% year on year to 278.5 thousand contracts. The volume of trade in currency futures increased by 158.1% year on year to 292.2 thousand contracts. The volume of trade in options increased by 227.2% year on year to 56.3 thousand contracts.
The value of trade in structured products increased by 423.3% year on year to PLN 370.4 million in March 2020. The value of trade in ETFs increased by 1,567.2% year on year to PLN 145.6 million in March 2020.
The value of non-Treasury bond issues listed on Catalyst was PLN 95.6 billion at the end of March 2020 compared to PLN 87.1 billion at the end of March 2019. The value of trade in non-Treasury bonds on the Electronic Order Book on Catalyst decreased by 24.8% year on year to PLN 264.7 million in March 2020.
The total value of trade in bonds on TBSP was PLN 20.4 billion in March 2020 compared to PLN 29.9 billion in March 2019, representing a decrease of 31.7% year on year.
The total volume of spot and forward transactions in electricity was 29.4 TWh in March 2020, representing an increase of 53.3% year on year. The volume of spot transactions in electricity decreased by 1.3% year on year to 2.9 TWh. The volume of forward transactions increased by 63.3% year on year to 26.5 TWh.
The total volume of transactions in natural gas was 14.8 TWh in March 2020, representing an increase of 20.3% year on year. The volume of trade on the spot market increased by 46.6% and stood at 3.2 TWh. The volume of trade on the forward market increased by 14.8% year on year and stood at 11.7 TWh.
The volume of spot transactions in property rights to certificates of origin excluding the rights to certificates of energy efficiency (“white certificates”)[2] was 2.3 TWh in March 2020, representing a decrease of 58.3% year on year. However, the March figures of this business line are not comparable year on year due to discontinued trading in cogeneration certificates as of the end of June 2019.
The volume of trade in property rights to certificates of origin of energy efficiency (“white certificates”) decreased by 30.2% year on year to 15.1 ktoe[3] in March 2020.
The volume of trade in Guarantees of Origin of electricity generated from renewable energy sources decreased by 25.9% year on year to 2.1 TWh in March 2020.
The capitalisation of 399 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 404.2 billion (EUR 88.8 billion) at the end of March 2020.
The total capitalisation of 447 domestic and foreign companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 781.9 billion (EUR 171.8 billion) at the end of March 2020.
Bonds of the Urban Municipality of Świdnik (PLN 22.2 million offering) and bonds of the Municipality of Niepołomice (PLN 20 million offering) were newly listed on the Catalyst market in March 2020.
GPW held 22 trading sessions in March 2020 compared to 21 trading sessions in March 2019.
