Investor Activity On GPW Group Markets – June 2017

  • Increase of the total value of trade in equities on the Main Market by 80.2% YoY to PLN 30.3 billion

The total value of trade in equities on the Main Market was PLN 30.3 billion in June 2017, representing an increase of 80.2% year on year. The value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book[1] increased by 19.0% year on year to PLN 18.2 billion and the average daily value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book stood at PLN 865.3 million in June 2017, an increase of 24.6% year on year. The WIG index stood at 61,018.4 points at the end of June 2017, representing an increase of 36.4% year on year.

The total value of trade in equities on NewConnect increased by 39.8% year on year. The value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book on the GPW alternative market was PLN 112.2 million (an increase of 36.7% year on year).

The total volume of trade in derivatives was 769.0 thousand contracts in June 2017, representing a decrease of 15.0% year on year. The volume of trade in single-stock futures increased by 1.5% year on year to 124,6 thousand contracts.

The value of non-Treasury bond issues listed on Catalyst was PLN 83.3 billion at the end of June 2017, representing an increase of 10.3% year on year. The value of trade in non-Treasury bonds on the Electronic Order Book on Catalyst decreased by 71.5% year on year to PLN 222.9 million.

The total value of trade in bonds on TBSP was PLN 52.1 billion in June 2017, representing an increase of 31.8% year on year.

The total volume of transactions in gas was 9.4 TWh in June 2017, representing an increase of 20.1% year on year. The volume of trade on the spot market increased by 24.5% and stood at 945.8 MWh. The total volume of spot and forward transactions in electricity was 8.7 TWh in June 2017, representing a decrease of 28.2% year on year.

The volume of spot and forward transactions in property rights to certificates of origin excluding the rights to certificates of energy efficiency (“white certificates”)[2] was 4.2 TWh in June 2017, representing a decrease of 2.9% year on year. The volume of trade in property rights to certificates of origin of energy efficiency (“white certificates”) was 24.9 ktoe[3] in June 2017.

The capitalisation of 432 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 645.0 billion (EUR 152.6 billion) at the end of June 2017. The total capitalisation of 483 domestic and foreign companies listed on the GPW Main Market was PLN 1,316.5 billion (EUR 311.5 billion) at the end of June 2017.

Bonds of the companies J.S. Hamilton Poland S.A. (issue of PLN 40 million) and Europejskie Centrum Odszkodowań S.A. (issue of PLN 50 million) were newly listed on Catalyst in June 2017.

GPW held 21 trading sessions in June 2017, 1 less than in June 2016.
