Investor Activity On GPW Group Markets – February 2021

In February 2021, total equities turnover value on the GPW Main Market was PLN 28.0 billion, representing a 60.4% increase year on year, while Electronic Order Book turnover value increased by 52.3% year on year to PLN 26.4 billion. Average daily Electronic Order Book equities turnover value stood at PLN 1,317.6 million, a 52.3% increase year on year. On the last trading day of February 2021, the WIG index closed at 56,970.30 points, representing a 15.6% increase year on year.

Total February 2021 NewConnect equities turnover value increased by 149.6% year on year to PLN 917.2 million, while Electronic Order Book equities turnover increased by 148.0% year on year and stood at PLN 903.2 million.

Total February 2021 derivatives turnover volume was 792,000 contracts, representing a 7.4% increase year on year. Index futures turnover volume increased by 11.8% year on year to 453,400 contracts. Single-stock futures turnover volume increased by 8.1% year on year to 200,200 contracts. Currency futures turnover volume decreased by 1.9% year on year to 112,700 contracts. Options turnover volume decreased by 18.8% year on year to 25,700 contracts.

In February 2021, structured products turnover value increased by 14.1% year on year to PLN 266.9 million. ETF turnover value increased by 14.5% year on year to PLN 52.8 million.

At the end of February 2021, Catalyst listed non-Treasury bond value was PLN 100.2 billion, compared to PLN 94.8 billion at the end of February 2020. In February 2021, turnover value of non-Treasury bonds on Catalyst’s Electronic Order Book increased by 35.1% year on year to PLN 235.3 million.

In February 2021, total TBSP bond turnover value was PLN 37.0 billion, compared to PLN 16.8 billion in February 2020, representing a 120.1% increase year on year.

Total February 2021 electricity turnover volume was 16.9 TWh, representing an 27.1% decrease year on year, where spot transaction turnover volume increased by 14.1% year on year to 3.2 TWh and forward transaction turnover volume decreased by 32.8% year on year to 13.7 TWh.

Total February 2021 natural gas turnover volume was 11.7 TWh, representing a 16.3% decrease year on year, where spot transaction turnover volume increased by 50.9% year on year to 3.4 TWh and forward transaction turnover volume decreased by 29.3% year on year to 8.3 TWh.

Turnover volume of February 2021 spot transactions in property rights to certificates of origin, excluding rights to certificates of energy efficiency (“white certificates”)2 was 2.7 TWh, representing a 13.4% increase year on year.

In February 2021, turnover volume of property rights to certificates of origin of energy efficiency (“white certificates”) decreased by 48.5% year on year to 8.6 ktoe3.

February 2021 turnover volume in Guarantees of Origin of electricity generated from renewable energy sources increased by 21.9% year on year to 2.0 TWh.

At the end of February 2021, the market capitalisation of 383 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 553.8 billion (EUR 122.6 billion), while the total market capitalisation of 434 domestic and foreign companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 1,099.6 billion (EUR 243.4 billion).

Shares of the company HUUUGE, INC.  (offering value PLN 1.67 billion) were newly listed on the GPW Main Market in February 2021.

Shares of the companies Atomic Jelly (offering value PLN 4.45 million), Simteract (offering value PLN 4.4 million) and Kool2Play (offering value PLN 2.5 million) were newly listed on NewConnect in February 2021.

Bonds of the companies Cavatina Holding S.A. and White Stone Development sp. z o.o. (issue value PLN 20 million and PLN 25 million, respectively) were newly listed on Catalyst in February 2021.

In February 2021, GPW held 20 trading sessions, the same as in February 2020.
