The total value of trade in equities on the GPW Main Market was PLN 17.5 billion in February 2020, representing an increase of 9.6% year on year. The value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book increased by 13.1% year on year to PLN 17.3 billion in February 2020. The average daily value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book stood at PLN 864.9 million in February 2020, an increase of 13.1% year on year. The WIG index stood at 49,276.54 points at the end of February 2020, representing a decrease of 17.7% year on year.
The total value of trade in equities on NewConnect increased by 211.0% year on year to PLN 367.5 million in February 2020. The value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book on NewConnect increased by 212.2% year on year and stood at PLN 364.3 million in February 2020.
The total volume of trade in derivatives was 737.3 thousand contracts in February 2020, representing an increase of 39.4% year on year. The volume of trade in index futures increased by 44.8% year on year to 405.6 thousand contracts. The volume of trade in single-stock futures increased by 98.4% year on year to 185.2 thousand contracts in February 2020.
The value of trade in structured products increased by 184.5% year on year to PLN 233.9 million in February 2020. The value of trade in ETFs increased by 263.9% year on year to PLN 46.1 million in February 2020.
The value of non-Treasury bond issues listed on Catalyst was PLN 94.8 billion at the end of February 2020 compared to PLN 86.6 billion at the end of February 2019. The value of trade in non-Treasury bonds on the Electronic Order Book on Catalyst decreased by 37.4% year on year to PLN 174.2 million in February 2020.
The total value of trade in bonds on TBSP was PLN 16.8 billion in February 2020 compared to PLN 29.6 billion in February 2019.
The total volume of spot and forward transactions in electricity was 23.2 TWh in February 2020, representing an increase of 41.1% year on year. The volume of spot transactions in electricity increased by 7.1% year on year to 2.8 TWh. The volume of forward transactions increase by 47.6% year on year to 20.4 TWh.
The total volume of transactions in natural gas was 14.0 TWh in February 2020, representing an increase of 116.0% year on year. The volume of trade on the spot market increased by 49.5% and stood at 2.3 TWh. The volume of trade on the forward market increased by 136.2% year on year and stood at 11.7 TWh.
The volume of spot transactions in property rights to certificates of origin excluding the rights to certificates of energy efficiency (“white certificates”)[2] was 2.4 TWh in February 2020, representing an increase of 2.1% year on year. However, the February figures of this business line are not comparable year on year due to discontinued trading in cogeneration certificates as of June 2019.
The volume of trade in property rights to certificates of origin of energy efficiency (“white certificates”) decreased by 15.7% year on year to 16.7 ktoe[3] in February 2020.
The volume of trade in Guarantees of Origin of electricity generated from renewable energy sources decreased by 3.8% year on year to 1.6 TWh in February 2020.
The capitalisation of 400 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 472.1 billion (EUR 108.9 billion) at the end of February 2020.
The total capitalisation of 448 domestic and foreign companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 983.6 billion (EUR 226.9 billion) at the end of February 2020.
Shares of Spyrosoft (PLN 0.11 million offering) were newly listed on NewConnect in February 2020.
Bonds of the company P4 (PLN 750 million offering), the City of Olsztyn (PLN 48 million offering), the City of Ustka (PLN 10 million offering), the Municipality of Ełk (PLN 25 million offering) and the Municipality of Podgórzyn (PLN 25 million offering) were newly listed on Catalyst in February 2020.
GPW held 20 trading sessions in February 2020, which is equal to 20 trading sessions in February 2019.
