The total value of trading in equities on the GPW Main Market was PLN 15.9 billion in February 2019, representing a decrease of 5.1% year on year. The value of trading in equities on the Electronic Order Book decreased by 5.7% year on year to PLN 15.3 billion in February 2019. The average daily value of trading in equities on the Electronic Order Book stood at PLN 764.7 million in February 2019, a decrease of 5.7% year on year. The WIG index stood at 59,903.70 points at the end of February 2019, representing a decrease of 2.9% year on year.
The total value of trading in equities on NewConnect increased by 56.9% year on year to PLN 118.2 million in February 2019. The value of trading in equities on the Electronic Order Book on NewConnect increased by 73.7% year on year and stood at PLN 116.7 million in February 2019.
The total volume of trading in derivatives was 529.1 thousand contracts in February 2019, representing a decrease of 15.3% year on year. The volume of trading in index futures decreased by 16.6% year on year to 280.2 thousand contracts.
The value of non-Treasury bond issues listed on Catalyst was PLN 86.6 billion at the end of February 2019 compared to PLN 75.2 billion at the end of February 2018. The value of trading in non-Treasury bonds on the Electronic Order Book on Catalyst increased by 2.8% year on year to PLN 280.9 million in February 2019.
The total value of trading in bonds on TBSP was PLN 29.6 billion in February 2019, representing a decrease of 20.8% year on year.
The total volume of spot and forward transactions in electricity was 16.4 TWh in February 2019, representing an increase of 78.6% year on year. The volume of spot transactions in electricity increased by 24.2% year on year to 2.6 TWh. The volume of forward transactions increased by 95.0% year on year to 13.8 TWh.
The total volume of transactions in natural gas was 6.5 TWh in February 2019, representing a decrease of 31.0% year on year. The volume of trading on the spot market decreased by 63.9% to 1.5 TWh. The volume of trading on the forward market decreased by 4.7% and stood at 5.0 TWh.
The volume of spot transactions in property rights to certificates of origin excluding the rights to certificates of energy efficiency (“white certificates”)[1] was 2.4 TWh in February 2019, representing a decrease of 32.4% year on year. The volume of trading in property rights to certificates of origin of energy efficiency (“white certificates”) decreased by 68.3% year on year to 19.8 ktoe[2] in February 2019.
GPW held 20 trading sessions in February 2019, the same as in February 2018.
The capitalisation of 413 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 641.34 billion (EUR 148.73 billion) at the end of February 2019.
The total capitalisation of 464 domestic and foreign companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 1,238.41 billion (EUR 287.20 billion) at the end of February 2019.
The companies XTPL (transfer from NewConnect) and DATAWALK with an IPO worth PLN 10.06 million were newly listed on the Main Market in February 2019.
