The total value of trade in equities on the GPW Main Market was PLN 16.8 billion in February 2018, representing a decrease of 22.4% year on year. The value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book decreased by 24% year on year to PLN 16.2 billion in February 2018. The average daily value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book stood at PLN 810.6 million in February 2018, a decrease of 24% year on year. The WIG index stood at 61,703.18 points at the end of February 2018, representing an increase of 5.8% year on year.
The total value of trade in equities on NewConnect decreased by 60.1% year on year to PLN 75.3 million in February 2018. The value of trade in equities on the Electronic Order Book on NewConnect was PLN 67.2 million in February 2018, a decrease of 63.3% year on year.
The total volume of trade in derivatives was 624.5 thousand contracts in February 2018, representing an increase of 2.5% year on year. The volume of trade in index futures was 336.1 thousand contracts in February 2018, representing an increase of 2% year on year. The volume of trade in currency futures increased almost two-fold by 98.7% to 143.6 thousand contracts compared to 72.3 thousand in February 2017.
The value of non-Treasury bond issues listed on Catalyst was PLN 75.2 billion at the end of February 2018 compared to PLN 60.5 billion at the end of February 2017.[3] The value of trade in non-Treasury bonds on the Electronic Order Book on Catalyst increased by 41.9% year on year to PLN 249.7 million in February 2018.
The total value of trade in bonds on TBSP was PLN 37.3 billion in February 2018, representing an increase of 10.2% year on year.
The total volume of spot and forward transactions in electricity was 9.2 TWh in February 2018, representing an increase of 47.1% year on year. The volume of forward transactions in electricity increased by 71.4% year on year to 7.1 TWh in February 2018.
The total volume of transactions in natural gas was 9.4 TWh in February 2018, representing a decrease of 7.7% year on year. The volume of trade on the forward market decreased by 32.1% and stood at 5.2 TWh. The volume of trade on the spot market increased by 67.6% to 4.2 TWh.
The volume of spot transactions in property rights to certificates of origin excluding the rights to certificates of energy efficiency (“white certificates”)[4] was 3.5 TWh in February 2018, representing a decrease of 24.6% year on year. The volume of trade in property rights to certificates of origin of energy efficiency (“white certificates”) increased by 81.7% year on year to 62.4 ktoe[5] in February 2018 compared to 34.4 ktoe in February 2017.
The capitalisation of 429 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 648.98 billion (EUR 155.34 billion) at the end of February 2018. The total capitalisation of 477 domestic and foreign companies listed on the GPW Main Market was PLN 1,368.11 billion (EUR 327.46 billion) at the end of February 2018.
Bonds of the company DINO Polska worth PLN 100 million were newly listed on Catalyst in February 2018.
GPW held 20 trading sessions in February 2018, the same as in February 2017.
