The total value of trading in equities on the GPW Main Market was PLN 14.0 billion in December 2019, representing a decrease of 7.5% year on year. The value of trading in equities on the Electronic Order Book decreased by 7.2% year on year to PLN 13.8 billion in December 2019. The average daily value of trading in equities on the Electronic Order Book stood at PLN 763.9 million in December 2019, a decrease of 12.4% year on year. The WIG index stood at 57,832.88 points at the end of December 2019, representing an increase of 0.2% year on year.
The total value of trading in equities on NewConnect increased by 51.7% year on year to PLN 129.6 million in December 2019. The value of trading in equities on the Electronic Order Book on NewConnect increased by 34.5% year on year and stood at PLN 104.0 million in December 2019.
The total volume of trading in derivatives was 645.3 thousand contracts in December 2019, representing a decrease of 23.2% year on year. The volume of trading in index futures decreased by 14.4% year on year to 403.9 thousand contracts. The volume of trading in single-stock futures increased by 20.1% year on year to 132.6 thousand contracts in December 2019.
The value of trading in structured products increased by 23.0% year on year to PLN 116.8 million in December 2019. The value of trading in ETFs increased by 120.9% year on year to PLN 20.6 million in December 2019.
The value of non-Treasury bond issues listed on Catalyst was PLN 92.1 billion at the end of December 2019 compared to PLN 86.6 billion at the end of December 2018. The value of trading in non-Treasury bonds on the Electronic Order Book on Catalyst decreased by 40.6% year on year to PLN 194.6 million in December 2019 compared to PLN 138.4 million in December 2018.
The total value of trading in bonds on TBSP was PLN 13.8 billion in December 2019 compared to PLN 20.3 billion in December 2018.
The total volume of spot and forward transactions in electricity was 15.3 TWh in December 2019, representing a decrease of 0.7% year on year. The volume of spot transactions in electricity increased by 18.8% year on year to 3.2 TWh. The volume of forward transactions decreased by 4.8% year on year to 12.1 TWh.
The total volume of transactions in natural gas was 14.8 TWh in December 2019, representing an increase of 28.8% year on year. The volume of trading on the spot market increased by 13.9% and stood at 2.9 TWh. The volume of trading on the forward market increased by 33.0% year on year and stood at 11.9 TWh.
The volume of spot transactions in property rights to certificates of origin excluding the rights to certificates of energy efficiency (“white certificates”)[2] was 2.7 TWh in December 2019, representing a decrease of 26.1% year on year. However, the December figures of this business line are not comparable year on year due to discontinued trading in cogeneration certificates as of June 2019.
The volume of trading in property rights to certificates of origin of energy efficiency (“white certificates”) decreased by 13.2% year on year to 26.5 ktoe[3] in December 2019. The annual volume of trading in white certificates increased by 49.1% year on year in 2019.
The capitalisation of 401 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 550.24 billion (EUR 129.2 billion) at the end of December 2019.
The total capitalisation of 449 domestic and foreign companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 1,103.85 billion (EUR 259.2 billion) at the end of December 2019.
Shares of the company Carbon Studio (PLN 2.7 million offering) were newly listed on NewConnect in December 2019.
Bonds of the city of Koszalin (PLN 35 million offering) were newly listed on Catalyst in December 2019.
GPW held 18 trading sessions in December 2019 compared to 17 trading sessions in December 2018.
