In August 2021, total equities turnover value on the GPW Main Market was PLN 18.3 billion, representing a 4.4% increase year on year, while Electronic Order Book turnover value increased by 1.8% year on year to PLN 17.7 billion. Average daily Electronic Order Book equities turnover value stood at PLN 804.7 million, a 2.8% decrease year on year. On the last trading day of August 2021, the WIG index closed at 70,930.15 points, representing a 37.4% increase year on year.
Total August 2021 NewConnect equities turnover value decreased by 83.3% year on year to PLN 293.1 million, while Electronic Order Book equities turnover decreased by 83.3% year on year and stood at PLN 289.2 million.
Total August 2021 derivatives turnover volume was 562,700 contracts, representing a 14.8% increase year on year. Index futures turnover volume decreased by 4.3% year on year to 267,300 contracts. Single-stock futures turnover volume increased by 9.0% year on year to 118,700 contracts. Currency futures turnover volume increased by 97.4% year on year to 158,100 contracts. Options turnover volume decreased by 14.8% year on year to 18,600 contracts.
In August 2021, structured products turnover value decreased by 0.9% year on year to PLN 209.7 million. ETF turnover value increased by 37.7% year on year to PLN 36.5 million.
At the end of August 2021, Catalyst listed non-Treasury bond value was PLN 101.2 billion, compared to PLN 94.9 billion at the end of August 2020. In August 2021, turnover value of non-Treasury bonds on Catalyst’s Electronic Order Book decreased by 16.1% year on year to PLN 170.0 million.
In August 2021, total TBSP bond turnover value was PLN 50.1 billion, compared to PLN 8.3 billion in August 2020, representing a 506.7% increase year on year.
Total August 2021 electricity turnover volume was 15.2 TWh, representing an 0.4% increase year on year, where spot transaction turnover volume increased by 10.9% year on year to 3.0 TWh and forward transaction turnover volume decreased by 1.9% year on year to 12.2 TWh.
Total August 2021 natural gas turnover volume was 22.3 TWh, representing a 140.7% increase year on year, where spot transaction turnover volume increased by 24.0% year on year to 1.2 TWh and forward transaction turnover volume increased by 154.9% year on year to 21.1 TWh.
Turnover volume of August 2021 spot transactions in property rights to certificates of origin, excluding rights to certificates of energy efficiency (“white certificates”),[2] was 1.2 TWh, representing a 41.1% decrease year on year.
In August 2021, turnover volume of property rights to certificates of origin of energy efficiency (“white certificates”) decreased by 33.8% year on year to 4.7 ktoe[3].
August 2021 turnover volume in Guarantees of Origin of electricity generated from renewable energy sources increased by 112.9% year on year to 1.5 TWh.
At the end of August 2021, the market capitalisation of 382 domestic companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 682.6 billion (EUR 150.4 billion), while the total market capitalisation of 429 domestic and foreign companies listed on the Main Market was PLN 1,292.8 billion (EUR 285.0 billion).
Shares of the company Punch Punk S.A. (offering value PLN 1.5 million) were newly listed on NewConnect in August 2021.
