International Petroleum Exchange's EnergyLive Internet Service to be Extended
Date 15/02/1999
Only five months after its launch, EnergyLive, the real-time internet service from the IPE is to be extended. In September 1998, the IPE became the first exchange in the world to publish its real-time prices on the Internet. EnergyLive is the only service in the world that displays live exchange prices in an ordinary web browser without the need for special software. Since its launch www.energylive.com has attracted thousands of visitors and an ever-growing number of customers. EnergyLive initially carried Brent Crude, Gas Oil and Natural Gas futures prices. In response to public demand, as of February 1, 1999, the IPE added Brent Crude and Gas Oil options, the Brent Index, the Natural Gas Index, the Gas Oil weighted average and depth-of-market information on Natural Gas futures - information carried by few other services. UK based Citynet, designed, implemented and manages EnergyLive under contract from the IPE.
