In its first agreement with a recognised futures exchange in Europe, Dow Jones Newswires will provide news coverage on oil and gas trading to EnergyLive, IPE's web-based real-time information service. The result of a joint venture with Caplin Systems*, IPE's EnergyLive service provides real-time oil and gas prices as well as quotes direct from the exchange, news and statistics to a broad cross-section of senior energy futures investors based around the world, via the Internet.
The news package is tailored for those trading the IPE's futures contracts for crude, oil products as well as natural gas and includes world business, energy and power news summaries. European proprietary crude and oil product prices and natural gas/crude oil commentaries will also be provided, as well as Dow Jones' Energy Market Talk feature, which offers real-time commentary on the factors behind breaking energy news and market movements.
"With an unrivalled network of specialist, real-time oil and gas reporters around the world, Dow Jones Newswires brings the most vital industry news directly to investors using IPE's online service around the world - news which can be essential to their trading decisions," said Michael Bergmeijer, vice president, international sales and marketing, Dow Jones Newswires.
Stuart Wood, head of e-commerce, IPE, said, "EnergyLive is a unique and cost effective way for investors to monitor IPE market activity and assists users as they manage their price risk exposure in volatile energy markets. The addition of Dow Jones Newswires is the first stage of completing a broader package of content and functionality that will enable investors to work on the web as if they were on a dedicated market terminal."
