Sponsored by the Dalian Commodity Exchange (DCE), the Seventh International Corn Industry Conference (ICIC) will be held in Chengdu on September 22. With the theme of "market restructuring and raw material risk management", the conference will see the participation of the enterprises of corn deep-processing, animal feed and the trade industry chain as well as the representatives from relevant government departments, industry associations, and financial and information institutions.
The conference will include nine keynote speeches and two special forums, covering the contents such as macroeconomic situation, industrial policy, corn supply and demand, trade and deep processing as well as feed and breeding, with the main line of risk management and the highlight of procurement and management of feed raw materials.
It has been ten years since the listing and trading of the corn futures was resumed on DCE in 2004. Over the decade, the corn futures have recorded standardized and steady operation and with the constantly improved market cultivation and contract rules, the corn futures have become a better-performing product of its kind controlled by the policies, playing the roles of price guidance and hedging in the raw materials procurement and operation of the enterprises of corn trade and processing and feed, and reflecting and enhancing the effects of the national macro-control policies, with the value of investment recognized by the corn-related industries and investors.
In cultivation and development of the corn futures market, DCE has sponsored the ICIC since 2007, in a bid to set up a platform of information sharing, communication and exchange and business collaboration for the corn-related industries, promote the futures-spot integration and give further play to the market function of the futures in serving the real economy. After years of effort, the conference has become a major industry conference and a brand event of service for the industries.
Market participants believe that the conference will be held during the growth and harvest of corn in the northern hemisphere and the United States Department of Agriculture releasing the report on global agricultural products supply and demand in September with the market highly concerned about the yields and prices of the crops. The convening of the conference will provide the attendees with a good opportunity to timely judge the future trends and find the directions for the production and operation.
