Instinet Announces July 2002 U.S. Equity Share Volume And Market Share

Instinet Group Incorporated (Nasdaq: INET) announced today that its U.S. equity share volume in July 2002 totaled 10,320 million shares. This compares to 6,946 million shares in June 2002 and 5,798 million shares in July 2001.

Instinet's U.S. equity share volume in July comprised 8,841 million shares of Nasdaq-listed stocks and 1,479 million shares of exchange-listed stocks.

Instinet's estimated total U.S. equity market share for July 2002 was 10.3%. Estimated share of Nasdaq-listed volume was 18.7%, and of exchange-listed volume was 2.8%.
