Information Disclosure Of Shenzhen-Listed Companies Much Improved

Shenzhen Stock Exchange recently finished assessment work for information disclosure of companies listed on its main board and small and medium enterprise board (SMB) for 2008, and released the results to the public. In general, the condition of information disclosure of Shenzhen listed companies got improved.

As for the companies listed on main board, 469 companies of total 486 companies are assessed as “acceptable” or above with the rate of 96.50%, exceeding 95.49% in 2007. 46 companies are assessed as “very good”, climbing 10% compared to 2007. 258 and 165 companies are assessed as “good” and “acceptable” respectively. The number of companies assessed as “poor” declines to 17, comparing with 22 in 2007.

As for the companies listed on the SMB, 34 companies including NHU are assessed as “very good” with the rate of 12.46%; 196 companies including Huapont Pharm are assessed as “good” with the rate of 71.79%; 41 companies including Elec-Tech International are assessed as “acceptable” with the rate of 15.02%; while 2 companies including *ST Qionghua are assessed as “poor” with the rate of 0.73%.

The assessment is a comprehensive assessment for information disclosure work of companies listed on Shenzhen Stock Exchange, for the purpose of strengthening information disclosure responsibilities and regular management consciousness of listed companies.
