Euronext has made an indicative selection for the AEX index® and the Amsterdam Midkap index® (AMX) based on available effective turnover figures. United Pan-European Communications (UPC) does not form part of the indicative selection because the current situation on special listing measures is taken into account.
Euronext Indices B.V. would like to emphasise that this selection is only an indication of the annual reweighting that will take place on the first trading day of March 2002. The selection and the weightings can change owing to announced (e.g. Fortis) and potential future corporate events. The definitive selection will be announced at the beginning of 2002.
Based on the current figures, the indices would change as follows:
AEX index®
- Van der Moolen and CMG will enter the AEX index®;
- Versatel and United Pan-Europe Communications will be removed from the AEX index®.
AMX index®
- Versatel, Fugro, Imtech and Volker Wessels Stevin will enter the AMX index®;
- Van der Moolen, CMG, BE Semiconductor and Landis will be removed from the AMX index®.
