- Nifty 50 closed at 8638.50 as on July 29, 2016, an increase of 350.75 points (4.23%) as against 8287.75 as on June 30, 2016.
- The free float market capitalization of Nifty 50 index was USD 471.54 Bn. as on July 29, 2016 as against USD 448.49 Bn. as on June 30, 2016. The free float market capitalization of Nifty Next 50 index was USD 90.21 Bn. as on July 29, 2016 as against USD 81.78 Bn. as on June 30, 2016.
- Most indices across all categories gained during the one month period ending July 29, 2016. Nifty Metal index gained the most (11.03%) amongst all the indices during the month whereas the Nifty IT index (-1.86%) was the biggest loser during the month.
- During the 3 month period ending July 29, 2016, the biggest gainers in their respective index categories are Nifty Free Float Smallcap 100 (17.00%) in broad market index category, Nifty Commodities (16.40%) in thematic index category, Nifty High Beta 50 (14.39%) in strategy index category and Nifty Realty (18.65%) in sectoral index category.
- The biggest gainers during the 1 year period ending July 29, 2016 in their respective index categories are Nifty Next 50 (7.90%) in broad market index category, Nifty Tata Group 25% Cap (19.68%) in thematic index category, Nifty Low Volatility 50 (9.14%) in strategy index category and Nifty Realty (17.47%) in sectoral index category.
- During the month, IISL launched two new indices viz. Nifty 50 Arbitrage Index and Nifty100 Low Volatility 30 Index. Reliance AMC launched ETF linked to Nifty 8-13 yr G-Sec Index and it is listed at NSE. Internationally, CSOP Asset Management Limited launched two ETFs linked to Nifty 50 Leverage and Nifty 50 Inverse index in Hong Kong.
