Having considered the data relating to trading and capitalisation, the index is to add 1 new stock while 4 are to be excluded. The IGBM composition for the second half of 2008 will therefore include 133 stocks, five more than in the same period a year ago.
The Committee also agreed to change the name of the "Banks" subsector to "Banks and Savings Banks". With regards to the stock weighting section, the Committee agreed that, as from July 2008, the weighting of an IGBM constituent will be based on its free-float and rounded up to its following tenth. For instance if a stock's free float is 28,23% its weighting in the IGBM index will be rounded up to 30%.
In order to set the free float, the Management Committee will take into account the CNMV's register of major shareholdings, which contain the reported direct stakes as well as those classified as indirect stakes and which reflect special circumstances affecting the structure of the shareholding, or relevant facts reported to the CNMV that alter the free float of each stock.
