ICE Futures U.S.(R), a leading regulated U.S. futures exchange for global agricultural, equity index and currency markets, reported record volume in its U.S. Dollar Index (USDX (R)) futures contract of 47,404 contracts on September 8. The previous record of 45,614 contracts was established on September 10, 2008.
The USDX is a leading benchmark for the international value of the U.S. dollar and the world's most widely-recognized traded currency index futures. The USDX contract allows traders to hedge moves in the value of the U.S. dollar relative to a basket of world currencies in a single transaction. USDX futures are traded 22 hours a day on the ICE trading platform.
ICE also announced that on Wednesday, September 30, it will offer a foreign exchange webinar with a focus on fundamental and technical approaches to trading USDX futures. Guest instructors will include Andrew Busch, Global FX Market Strategist for BMO Capital Markets' Investment Banking Division and a regular guest on CNBC, and Andrew Baptiste, Managing Director and Chief Technical Analyst for the Fixed Income Division at Morgan Stanley.
