ICE Futures Sets Second Consecutive Daily Volume Record In WTI Crude Futures With Over 120,000 Contracts Traded

IntercontinentalExchange (NYSE: ICE), the leading electronic energy marketplace, announced that ICE Futures, its futures business segment, achieved a second consecutive daily volume record in its ICE WTI Crude futures contract. On April 12, volume in the ICE WTI Crude futures contract reached 121,027 contracts, surpassing by 20% the April 11 record of 100,787 contracts. Open interest in the WTI contract rose to 159,491. ICE Futures, which introduced the fully electronic WTI futures contract on February 3, 2006, is also the home of the benchmark Brent Crude futures contract.
