IntercontinentalExchange (NYSE: ICE), the leading electronic energy marketplace, announced that its regulated futures subsidiary, ICE Futures, established new daily exchange-wide and ICE Brent Crude futures volume records.
Exchange-wide volume at ICE Futures reached a record 696,700 contracts on January 8, 2007. The previous record of 682,752 contracts was set January 4, 2007.
Also on January 8, the ICE Brent Crude futures contract reached a new daily volume record of 317,307 contracts, 8.3% higher than the previous record of 292,994 contracts set December 8, 2006. Yesterday’s volume marked the first time that ICE Brent Crude futures volume exceeded 300,000 contracts.
