ICBC Opens New Medium Term Note Programme On Luxembourg Stock Exchange

Date 08/01/2015

On 8 January  2015, the Luxembourg Stock Exchange (LuxSE) admitted a new Medium Term Note programme for Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited, Luxembourg Branch (ICBC).

This programme has an aggregate nominal amount of EUR 8 billion, or equivalent in other currencies. As a Medium Term Note programme, it will enable ICBC to issue bonds on a regular basis and tranches from the programme will be listed and admitted to trading on the Euro MTF market of LuxSE in the future.

The listing of the programme follows the signing of a memorandum of understanding in December between ICBC and LuxSE, which aims to facilitate financial activities related to the internationalization of the renminbi and to promote LuxSE as a listing venue for Chinese issuers.

“This listing further confirms the trust of Chinese banks in Luxembourg as an international financial centre. We are delighted to welcome an MTN programme of the world’s leading bank by assets,” said Robert Scharfe, CEO of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange.

Joint lead managers for the issue were ICBC Asia, ICBC Singapore, Standard Chartered and BNP Paribas.
