ICAP plc (IAP.L), the world’s premier interdealer broker, announced today that it has appointed Brigitte Trafford as Director of Corporate Affairs.
She will be responsible globally for all aspects of communications including investor relations, media relations, customer and employee communications and coordination of public affairs when she takes up her new role on 11 July 2011.

Brigitte Trafford has worked in a wide range of communications roles during the past 18 years, most recently as Group Communications Director for Lloyds Banking Group. Prior to that she was running her own consultancy and also worked for M:Communications, a financial communications consultancy; this followed more than three years as Group Communications Director at ITV plc where she was a member of their Executive Board. Earlier in her career she worked in New York for Dow Jones, the financial news and business information company, leading their global communications activities and prior to that in telecommunications. She has a degree in social and political sciences from the University of Cambridge.
After 17 years in the broking business, the past 11 as Director of Corporate Affairs at ICAP, Mike Sheard will retire from the Group at the end of July 2011.
