Bolsas y Mercados Españoles (BME) will no longer calculate the IBEX Nuevo Mercado index, which tracks the performance of eight of the Nuevo Mercado segment constituents, on December 3rd. BME has offered the companies integrating the Nuevo Mercado segment to apply for transferral to the primary market.
To date, no financial products linked to this index is registered with the Spanish Stock Market and the number of stocks comprising it is very small to meet the diversification criteria of a stock market index.
Both the economic rationale behind the creation of the Nuevo Mercado and, more specifically, the nature of the companies listed on this segment have changed over time. This has made it unnecessary to maintain the particular criteria governing trading in this type of securities.
The IBEX Nuevo Mercado is made up of the following companies: Indra, Abengoa, Zeltia, Jazztel, Avanzit, Amper, Tecnocom, Natraceutical.
