The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) welcomes the re-appointment of Ms Julia Leung as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for a further two-year term, effective 1 January 2026.
Ms Leung’s leadership over her past term has been marked by exceptional commitment, profound expertise, and robust stakeholder engagement. She has garnered widespread trust from the local and global financial industry, the SFC Board, and the Commission’s staff as an effective and fair leader. Under her stewardship, the SFC has continued to reinforce Hong Kong’s status as a leading international financial centre, with an unwavering focus on enhancing the city’s governance standards and facilitating market development.
The renewed term will enable Ms Leung to advance the SFC’s key priorities in regulatory reform, market development, and seamless leadership transition – all to safeguard long-term operational continuity.
“The SFC has benefitted immensely from Julia’s strategic vision and dedication,” said Dr Kelvin Wong, Chairman of the SFC. “Over the next two years, her focus on strategic initiatives – particularly in data, talent, and succession planning – will further strengthen the Commission and consolidate Hong Kong’s premier global standing.”

Ms Leung was first appointed CEO on 1 January 2023. Her current term concludes 31 December 2025.
