Hong Kong Securities And Futures Commission Welcomes Launch Of Platform And Nominee Services On Integrated Fund Platform

Date 28/10/2026

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) welcomes Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited’s (HKEX) launch of its Platform and Nominee Services on the Integrated Fund Platform (IFP) (Notes 1 and 2).

The launch signifies a key milestone of the IFP’s development and significantly expands its range of services. The new services will help fund managers and distributors streamline operational processes and facilitate broader participation across the fund distribution value chain. Beginning today, fund subscription and redemption by distributors including brokers on behalf of their clients become operational.

Ms Elisa Ng, the SFC’s Executive Director of Investment Products, said: "With the launch of the Platform and Nominee Services, the IFP has reached an important goalpost with all its key services in operation. The platform is expected to generate tangible value by enhancing market efficiency and facilitating new fund distribution relationships. We look forward to continued industry participation in the platform. Broad adoption will help build the scale needed for the platform to realise its full potential and maximise its value to market participants."

"Over a longer term, IFP is also expected to spur a wider investor participation in the Hong Kong fund market as the IFP will help diversify fund distribution channels. This should help attract a more diverse, continuous base of domestic and cross-border capital (Note 3), and cement Hong Kong’s ranking as a global leader in wealth management," Ms Ng added.

Notes:

  1. The IFP is an integrated market infrastructure for retail fund distribution in Hong Kong that connects fund managers, transfer agents, distributors and other participants through standardised workflows and information exchange. This is part of the government initiatives to foster co-development of fintech and the real economy in Hong Kong, first announced on 2 November 2023.
  2. The IFP, which operates on a business-to-business model, is launched by a phased approach. The Fund Repository and the Order Routing Service were launched in December 2024 and July 2025 respectively, please refer to the SFC’s press releases dated 13 December 2024 and 3 July 2025. For details on the IFP and its Platform and Nominee Services, please refer to HKEX’s website.
  3. The distributors which are on-boarded the IFP include licensed corporations which are eligible to service investors under the Cross-Boundary Wealth Management Connect Scheme in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
