The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) welcomes the Financial Secretary’s appointment of Mr Tony Tang Xiaodong and re-appointment of Mr Michael Wong Yick Kam as Non-Executive Directors, respectively for a term of two years (Note 1).
Dr Kelvin Wong, the SFC’s Chairman, said: “On behalf of the SFC Board, I would like to extend a warm welcome to Tony, and we look forward to working with him. Tony’s broad experience in the global financial services sector, his expertise in the operation and the financial regulations of the international capital markets would be a useful addition to the SFC Board’s strategy formulation and policy setting.”
“I am also pleased that the SFC will continue to benefit from Michael’s advice as the SFC strives to maintain market resilience through effective regulation which is essential for sustainable capital market development,” Dr Wong added.
Dr Wong would also like to convey his heartiest thanks to the outgoing Non-Executive Director Mr Nicky Lo for his dedication, guidance and support to the Commission.
Notes:
- The term of Mr Tang will begin on 24 April 2025 and the renewed term of Mr Wong will begin on 1 April 2025.
- Mr Lo’s term ends on 23 April 2025.
