The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) welcomes the appointment by the Financial Secretary of Mr Vincent Chan Chun-hung and the re-appointment of Mr Victor Dawes, SC, as Non-Executive Directors for a term of two years from 1 August 2024.
“I would like to extend a warm welcome to Mr Chan, who will contribute to the diversity of the SFC Board and broaden our regulatory skill set with his strong background in private equities and venture capital,” said Mr Tim Lui, the SFC’s Chairman.
“I am also pleased that the SFC will continue to benefit from Mr Dawes’s wealth of knowledge after four years, as his insights into securities laws will help us uphold our statutory functions in both good and challenging times,” Mr Lui added.
The SFC would also like to thank outgoing Non-Executive Director Dr James Lin for his valuable contribution during his six-year tenure (Note 1). His rich experience in both Hong Kong and overseas capital markets combined with his legal expertise has been vital to the SFC’s effective market regulation in the international financial centre of Hong Kong.
