The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) and its staff are deeply saddened by the tragic fire that broke out on Wednesday at Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po, Hong Kong. It extends heartfelt condolences to the victims and their families, as well as deepest sympathies for the residents affected.
As a public organisation, the SFC joins the rest of the community in rallying support for the victims and families in these challenging times. It is calling upon its staff to support a dedicated donation drive, as well as offer any form of voluntary help to those in need.
The SFC will donate all funds raised from this effort, together with budgeted funds for the now-cancelled annual staff dinner slated for December, to the HKSAR Government-established “Support Fund for Wang Fuk Court in Tai Po”.
Lastly, the SFC wishes to pay its respect to the heroism and professionalism of all frontline personnel in battling the fire and saving lives.
