Hong Kong Securities And Futures Commission CEO Re-Appointed As Chair Of IOSCO Asia-Pacific Regional Committee

The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) welcomes the re-appointment of its Chief Executive Officer, Ms Julia Leung, as the Chair of the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee (APRC) of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) (Notes 1 and 2).

The second two-year term of Ms Leung will start on the date of the IOSCO Annual Meeting in May 2026.

“It’s an honour to serve a second term as APRC Chair, and I look forward to further strengthening the resilience of our region’s capital markets and to ensure a strong and balanced regional voice in dialogues on global finance”, said Ms Leung. “Together, securities regulators in this region will address pertinent issues such as online investment scams, digital assets, public and private markets, and enhancing cross-border supervisory and enforcement cooperation.”

  1. IOSCO is the international body that brings together the world's securities regulators and is recognised as the global standard setter for the securities sector. Its membership regulates more than 95% of the world’s securities markets in more than 130 jurisdictions.
