The Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has appointed Ms Alexandra Yeong, Senior Director of Investment Products, as Interim Head of Investment Products, effective 1 November 2025.
Following Ms Christina Choi’s impending appointment to the role as the Executive Director of Corporate Finance (Note 1), the SFC will shortly commence the recruitment exercise for the position of Executive Director of Investment Products. Ms Yeong will oversee the Investment Products Division pending the appointment of a new Executive Director to head the Division.
Ms Yeong joined the SFC’s Supervision of Markets Division in 2007 and was transferred to Corporate Finance Division as Director in October 2009. Subsequently she was transferred to Investment Products Division and was promoted to her current position in 2017 to direct investment products activities including the UT Code review, supervising assessments on collective investment schemes, and formulating policy work related to investment products.
Ms Julia Leung, the SFC’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “Alexandra’s appointment as Interim Head will ensure that the Investment Products Division continues to operate at full strength before the appointment of a permanent replacement”.
Dr Kelvin Wong, Chairman of the SFC, said: “Given her proven expertise and dedication, Alexandra’s appointment as Interim Head ensures steady leadership of the Investment Products Division, maintaining public confidence during this transitional period.”
