Hong Kong Futures Exchange Market Statistics For September

The total number of futures contracts traded in September was 389,610 compared to 430,517 in August. Total number of option contracts traded in September was 64,707 compared to 53,032 in August. The futures average daily volume for September was 18,553, that for options 3,081. Total number of futures contracts traded in the period January to September was 4,488,836, a decrease of 27.3% compared to the same period in 1998; for options the equivalent figures were 600,139 and a decrease of 3.0%.
