Hong Kong Exchanges And Clearing Limited GEM Conference In Shanghai

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) will organise a conference aimed at providing potential Growth Enterprise Market (GEM) listing candidates in Mainland China with a greater understanding of the requirements for listing on GEM in Hong Kong. The conference will be held in Shanghai on 30 May 2001.

The conference is divided into two parts. The first half will include speeches by Minister of Science and Technology Xu Guanhua, China Securities Regulatory Commission Chairman Zhou Xiaochuan, Shanghai Municipal Government Executive Deputy Mayor Chen Liangyu, HKEx Chairman Charles Lee Yeh-kwong, HKEx Chief Executive Kwong Ki-chi, Senior Vice President of HKEx's China & International Development Richard Peng, and the representative of Hong Kong Venture Capital Association. The second half will comprise presentations by sponsors, legal and accounting firms from Hong Kong, and open forums for questions and answers, on their services to potential issuers of GEM.
