The Hong Kong Mercantile Exchange (“HKMEx”), China’sinternational commodity marketplace, announces today the addition of Guotai Junan Futures (HongKong) Ltd, as the Exchange’s newest broking member. The addition will further HKMEx’s reach through Guotai Junan’s extensive customer base in Greater China, and at the same time give the futures firm access to the Exchange’s unique product offerings.
Guotai Junan Futures’ approval as an HKMEx member will enable it to access a state-of-the-art electronic platform for trading commodities in the Asian Pacific time zone, benefiting from the Exchange’s transparent, liquid and cleared market environment.
An active participant of both the global and Hong Kong futures and options market since it was set up in1997, Guotai Junan Futures provides trading in commodity futures including metals, agriculture, and energy products, as well as in foreign exchange, interest rates, and financial indices.

HKMEx currently trades two contracts including a 32 troy ounces gold futures contract and a 1,000 troy ounces silver futures contract. Both are denominated in US dollars, with the option for physical delivery. Other products in the pipeline include a renminbi-denominated gold futures contract, as well asproducts in other precious metals, base metals, agriculture, energy, and commodity indicies.
