HKEx's ETF Market Expands Further To Cover A Wider Variety Of Markets

Hong Kong's Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) market is expanding further and offering investor more choices as ETFs covering stock markets in Hong Kong, India, Korea and Vietnam, as well as the US, will debut tomorrow (Wednesday, 8 July) on the Main Board of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (the Exchange), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited.  They will join another ETF from the same fund management company which made its debut last week (details of the six ETFs are in the table below).     

The Vietnam-focused ETF will be the first of its kind listed in Hong Kong

The db x-trackers ETFs are products of the Deutsche Bank Group (DB Group), a major ETF manager in Europe which is cross-listing its ETFs in Hong Kong for the first time.  All six db x-trackers' ETFs in the table above have a synthetic structure which allows them to replic at e the performance of the underlying assets.  Deutsche Securities Asia Limited, part of the DB Group, is the market maker for the six ETFs. 

The addition of the db x-trackers debuting tomorrow will increase the number of ETFs listed on the Exchange to 35.  DB Group is the eighth ETF manager to list a fund in Hong Kong .
