HKEX Welcomes The Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission’s Announcement On Virtual Asset ETFs

HKEX welcomes the SFC announcement today permitting the listing of ETFs with virtual assets as their underlying. This will further strengthen Hong Kong’s role as an international financial centre, as well as supporting the continued growth of Hong Kong as Asia’s preferred ETF marketplace.

We are excited about the opportunities in the virtual assets space and we believe HKEX is well-positioned to capitalise on this and other new innovations across our markets, connecting today with tomorrow.

HKEX will work closely with issuers and other stakeholders towards the introduction of this new ETF product. We will update the market as appropriate.
