In addition to a new look and streamlined navigation path, the revamped website provides new information, which will benefit the investing public and enhance the transparency of the market. The additional content includes a new section on Issuer Services which provides, among other things, information for potential issuers who are interested in listing in Hong Kong. Market statistics on Mainland listings in Hong Kong since 1993 are also available. For those who are not able to visit the Stock Exchange Trading Hall in person, the virtual tour offers a 360-degree view of the stock market icon. In response to investor feedback, information on new listings was added under the Listing Matters and Listed Companies section. Two additional reports, Announcements Concerning High Concentration of Shareholdings and Announcements Concerning Changing Auditors of Listed Issuers are available for public reference.
There is also new functionality, including a News Alert service, a simplified Chinese-characters version, global content search capability and a simplified maintenance system.
The News Alert service is a new feature which will update subscribers via email on selected website content with irregular but frequent changes and high utilisation rates. The free service includes news releases, rule amendments and research reports initially. Together with the listed company news alert service offered under Investment Service Centre, subscribers, with a single account and password, will be able to receive alerts on both HKEx news and announcements by the listed companies they have selected, including the companies' Disclosure of Interests filings.
"Our revamped website is designed to strengthen our information services for market participants and the public." said Paul Chow, chief executive of HKEx.
"The rollout of the website is only part of our continuing efforts to improve our provision of information," Mr Chow added. "In the coming months, we plan to further improve our web services by including more new content. This includes delayed Hang Seng Index Futures data, a teachers' toolkit for investor education and a stock market statistics archive."
