- The Hang Seng Index (HSI) closed at 11015.84 today, down 1602.54 points, or 12.7 per cent.
- The Hang Seng China Enterprises Index (H-shares index) closed at 4990.08 today, down 812.63 points, or 14 per cent. It was the twelfth largest point declines in history.
- Today's securities market turnover value was $56,869 million.
- Today's turnover values for H-share and red-chip companies were $21,712 million and $8,490 million respectively.
- Today's derivative warrants turnover was $3,803 million.
- Today's CBBCs turnover was $4,463 million.
- A total of 744,252 trades were concluded today.
- Today's closing market capitalisation* was $7,649.7 billion. The previous trading day's (24 October 2008) closing market capitalisation was $8,608.8 billion.
* The figures represent the total market capitalisation of all equity securities listed on the Main Board and Growth Enterprise Market (GEM) and exclude other listed securities such as REITs and government bonds. Trading only stocks under pilot programmes are also excluded.
