Deutsche Börse has also been making market-depth 10 available for the most liquid futures at Eurex since mid-September, and is thus opening up the order books of the world's leading marketplace for derivatives. Market depth 10 is available for futures on the DAX and Dow Jones Euro STOXX 50 indexes as well as on the capital market products Bund, Bobl and Schatz.
Market depth 10 gives investors the same view of the bid and ask quotes in the order book as Xetra and Eurex traders. Up to now, the five best bid and ask prices have been disseminated. With the expanded service, Deutsche Börse is passing on the transparency of electronic trading to investors. The market depth is the basis for evaluating the market dynamics and the liquidity of individual stocks. With the more in-depth view of the Xetra and Eurex order books, investors can place orders in line with fair market prices.
The data on market depth are transmitted via the CEF price dissemination system to data vendors and Internet services, which in turn pass this data on to market participants, issuers and investors via their information screens.
