Started in April 2001, evening trading at Helsinki Exchanges has until now ended at 9 pm. Evening trading has had 6% share of trading volume and 8% share of trades. Two thirds of evening trading volume has been generated during the first hour.
Change in evening trading hours is HEX`s response to changing demand. "The feedback we have received from members and investors tells that two-hour evening trading is closest to the markets expectations.", says Executive Vice President Jouni Torasvirta. When studying evening trading, HEX has seeked a solution that would satisfy the markets as much as possible.
