Hellenic Exchanges publishes its Derivatives Monthly Statistics Bulletin for October 2013.
Summary of basic statistical information of Derivatives Market for October 2013:
The number of Active investors’ Accounts reached 33,186 (previous month: 33,434)
The number of Trading Active investors’ Accounts reached 2,488 (previous month: 2,437)
Total number of open interest was 240.941 increased by 20.74% compared to the previous month (199,551 open interests).
Participation of foreign investors in total open interest of Derivatives Market reached 10.64% in Positions.
Participation of foreign investors in Futures’ open interest reached 10.76% in Positions.
Participation of foreign investors in Index Futures’ open interest reached 40.93% in Positions.
Participation of foreign investors in Options’ open interest reached 8.43% in Positions.
Total traded volume reached 1,014,382 contracts increased by 36.89% compared to the previous month (740,982 items).
Investors’ Participation in Derivatives Market
The participation of Greek investors in total open interest of Derivatives Market was 89.24% in Positions at the end of October 2013 while the previous month reached 88.10%. The participation of foreign investors in total open interest of Derivatives Market was 10.64% in Positions at the end of October 2013 while the previous month reached 11.76%.
Investors’ Participation in Futures
The participation of Greek investors in Futures’ open interest was 89.24% in Positions at the end of October 2013 while the previous month reached 88.49%. The participation of foreign investors in Futures’ open interest of was 10.76% in Positions at the end of October 2013 while the previous month reached 11.51%.
In Index Futures the number of Clearing Accounts reached 674 accounts, decreased by 5.86% compared to the previous month (716 clearing accounts). Also, the participation of foreign investors in open interest reached at 40.39% compared to the previous month which was 35.61%.
In Stock Futures the number of Clearing Accounts reached 4,087 accounts, increased by 19.12% compared to the previous month (3,431 clearing accounts). Also, the participation of Greek investors in open interest reached at 97.52% compared to the previous month which was 97.47%.
Investors’ Participation in Options
The participation of Greek investors in Options’ open interest was 89.35% in Positions at the end of October 2013 while the previous month reached 80.27%. The participation of foreign investors in Options’ open interest was 8.43% in Positions at the end of October 2013 while the previous month reached 16.88%.
