The chairman of Germany's Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin), Mr. Karl- Burkhard Caspari, arrived yesterday in Israel on a professional visit with the chairman of the Israel Securities Authority (ISA), Prof. Shmuel Hauser, to study regulatory models and strengthen cooperation between the two authorities.
The German Authority is a leading member in the European Committee (ERC) of the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), to which the ISA was accepted last month. Within the framework of the visit, the BaFin chairman, Mr. Caspari, opened trading on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) this morning.
Following the opening bell ceremony, a meeting between Hauser, Caspari and TASE Chairman, Saul Bronfeldwas held at TASE headquarters.
