GPW Benchmark Introduces Total Return Index WIGtechTR

• GPW Benchmark, a member of the GPW Group, starts to publish a new index WIGtechTR (WIGtech Total Return) on 1 December 2020
• WIGtechTR jest is a total return index of the existing index WIGtech
• WIGtechTR covers high-tech stocks listed on the Main Market in sectors including biotechnology, gaming, IT, telecommunication, new technology
• The index includes corporate events such as new share issues with subscription rights and dividend payments
• GPW Benchmark will publish the index portfolio on 24 November 2020 and start to publish WIGtechTR on 1 December 2020

GPW Benchmark, a member of the GPW Group, introduces a new index WIGtechTR on 1 December 2020. According to the assumptions, similar to WIGtech, WIGtechTR will cover companies participating in WIG which generate revenue in sectors including medicine, biotechnology, programming, gaming, internet, and telecommunication.

“GPW Benchmark is responsible for the provision of indices and benchmarks which address market trends and the interest of investors active on the local capital market. The new index WIGtechTR joins the Family of Exchange Indices and may in near future become the underlying of ETPs,” said Aleksandra Bluj, Vice-President of GPW Benchmark.

WIGtechTR is a total return index and includes not only transaction prices but also return from dividends and subscription rights. The index covers a variable number of companies whose participation is determined based on the number of free-float shares, similar to other indices. The share of the biggest stocks in the index is capped at 10 percent. The index base value is 10,000 points. The index will be published on a continuous basis at one-minute intervals. The index revision is synchronised with the other indices. The first index portfolio will be published on 24 November 2020.
