- The Stock Market Review Gala 2019 took place at the head office of the Warsaw Stock Exchange
- GPW presented awards for performance and support for the development of the Polish capital market in 2019
The Stock Market Review Gala 2019 was hosted by Members of the GPW Management Board: Izabela Olszewska and Piotr Borowski. The awards were also presented by Mariusz Bieńkowski, President of the BondSpot Management Board and Zbigniew Minda, President of the GPW Benchmark Management Board. The event brought together the awarded capital market institutions including issuers, brokers, banks, investment firms, industry organisations and associations.
“Last year was difficult for European capital markets, as evidenced by a double-digit drop in turnover on the London Stock Exchange, Deutsche Boerse, Wiener Boerse. Owing to the modifications implemented in the past two years under the strategy #GPW2022, we were in a position to defend our turnover more successfully than other European exchanges. The directions of development decided in 2018 proved us right. Our innovative solutions were appreciated: we received financial support from the National Centre for Research & Development dedicated to the development of the new trading system and the strategic initiative GPW Data. Further growth of the Exchange and the entire capital market would not have been possible without the broad support for innovative solutions on the part of the key market participants – the leaders who contributed in 2019 to the growing importance of the Warsaw Stock Exchange,” said Marek Dietl, President of the GPW Management Board.
