Gorenje Newly Listed On WSE

  • Gorenje is the 58th foreign company listed on WSE and the 3rd listing from Slovenia. 
  • The total value of IPOs on WSE in 2013 was PLN 5,136 million, an increase of 49.4% year on year. 

Shares of the Slovenian company Gorenje were newly listed on the trading floor in Warsaw during the last exchange trading session in 2013. The issuer is the 450th company listed on the Main Market and the 23rd new listing on the market in 2013. Gorenje is also the 58th foreign company listed on WSE (47 companies on the Main Market and 11 companies on NewConnect).

“The last months of 2013 have been proof of growing interest of both issuers and investors in the public market. Let the new listing of a foreign company closing the year be a good prognostic for the next year which will be a time of determined continuation of the strategy focused on the internationalisation of the Warsaw trading floor and building of the CEE capital hub in Warsaw,” said Adam Maciejewski, President of the Management Board of WSE.

Foreign companies listed in Warsaw originate from 23 countries and in the biggest numbers represent Ukraine (12 issuers) and the Czech Republic (8 issuers). 25 companies are dual-listed while 33 companies are listed only on WSE.

The value of Gorenje’s share offering was PLN 70.5 million. As a result, the value of public offerings on WSE in 2013 reached PLN 5,136 million, an increase of 49.4% year on year. The biggest offering of 2013 both in Warsaw and in the CEE was the new listing of Energa at PLN 2,406 million.

The Gorenje Group is a leading European manufacturer of domestic appliances. The Group has a global presence but it generates 92% of revenue in Europe. Its main markets include Germany, Russia, the Benelux, Ukraine, Scandinavia, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, and Southeast Europe. Gorenje has been listed on the main floor of the Ljubljana Stock Exchange since 1998.
